# Olivasal

> Olivasal is a self-hosted, AI-powered video meeting platform — Zoom-like, but tenants own their data. Encrypted calls, recording, and AI recaps you can run on your own infrastructure or our managed cloud. Built by Megam Technologies.

The name comes from Tamil: *oli* (ஒலி sound / ஒளி light) — audio + video — and *vasal* (வாசல்) — doorway.

## What it does

- Real-time video meetings on a self-hosted media engine: lobby + admit, host transfer, co-host roles, end-for-all, screen share, collaborative whiteboard, picture-in-picture.
- End-to-end encryption (E2EE) per meeting — keys live on participant devices; the server can't read media. Admins can require it workspace-wide. Cloud recording + AI are disabled while E2EE is on.
- In-call collaboration: chat with direct messages, file attachments, image/PDF/video lightbox, live captions with per-viewer translation, per-person screen-share permission.
- Recording: cloud composite MP4 (host-triggered or auto) and local "save to my device" ZIP. Audio + chat transcript sidecars, speaker-separated tracks, camera-off rendered as initials avatars, public share links.
- AI summaries: automatic transcription + summarization on meeting end, speaker-attributed, rendered as a visual flowchart, searchable recordings library. Multilingual speech-to-text (Tamil + other Indic languages). Runs on managed AI or your own GPU.
- Scheduling & calendar: scheduled meetings with day-zero invite links, recurring "team room" short codes, month/week/day/year calendar, per-viewer timezone, Google Calendar integration, contacts directory.
- White-labeling: per-company logo, primary/accent colors, optional gradient.
- Plugin platform: sandboxed iframes, multiple plugins active at once, signed bundles, per-company version pinning. First-party plugins: screen-annotate, doc-scanner, live-captions.
- Administration & multi-tenancy: multiple companies (pending/active/disabled), super-admin moderation, comprehensive audit logging, per-company SMTP, OAuth send-as (Gmail / Microsoft 365 / Zoho), role-based access.
- Integrations: Google & Microsoft SSO, Google Calendar (two-way), mail send-as (Gmail/Microsoft 365/Zoho), push action items to GitLab issues.
- Hosting: managed cloud or fully self-hosted (air-gapped capable); no proprietary cloud dependencies.
